What’s better than a fresh, not-too-sweet margarita? A fresh, not-too-sweet strawberry margarita! No fruit-flavored syrups or lime concentrates here. Only real fruit. First of the season yummy strawberries, fresh squeezed lime juice and good quality tequila….it’s dangerously delicious! Serve with chicken enchiladas, black beans and Mexican brown rice and you’ve got yourself a fiesta. Just be careful to not have too much fun! enjoy.
- 1 pound (16 ounces) fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 cup silver tequila
- ⅔ cup freshly-squeezed lime juice
- ⅓ agave, more/less to taste
- ¼ cup Cointreau or Triple Sec (or any orange liqueur)
- ice (for serving
- salt to rim the glasses (you can also do a ½ salt, ½ sugar mixture)
- extra fresh strawberries and/or lime slices for garnish
- Add strawberries, tequila, lime juice, agave, and orange liqueur to blender and blend until smooth.
- Rim the ridge of a chilled glass with salt or salt/sugar mixture and fill with ice.
- Fill glass with margarita mix and garnish with lime and/or strawberries.
- **you can also make a frozen, blended margarita by added the ice to the blender
